Amber West

Well today I am interviewing a very sexy Model, performer and all round naughty girl. She's as lovely as she is naughty and she is giving us a glimpse of what really makes her tick. Welcome the very sexy Amber West.

JJ: Welcome Amber. It's a pleasure to have you with us.

How did you get into the industry?

Amber: My trip down the rabbit hole started with chatting to a glamour model on Myspace (shows how long ago it was!) and she recommended joining one of the ‘portfolio modelling’ websites.  I’d just moved to London and while I had an enjoyable job in the music industry, I was broke ALL the time, and of course the vanity aspect is appealing so I signed up.
First few shoots I did were art nude and portrait type ones.
I was always pretty comfortable about fetish as my best friend’s mum was a dominatrix when I was a kid and a lot of my London friends attended fetish clubs.  Adult intrigued me as it was a bit ‘naughty’.  Happened to meet Kaz B on a girl/girl shoot (it was a content share shoot and she was doing hard g/g with the marvellous Danica Collins).  Kaz and I hit it off, and I do credit her with a lot.

JJ: Kaz is awesome. I interviewed her a while back and she was just amazing.

What's the best thing about the industry?

Amber: I genuinely like the people.  There are a lot of people who are ‘my type’ and I really feel bonded with. Been fortunate to meet some unique personalities and made cool friends

JJ: The industry is full of amazing people and it's one of the main things people in the industry talk about during my interviews.

What's the worst thing about the industry?

Amber: The misinformation and judgements about the industry.  I’m lucky that I have a chilled out mother and it’s also never been an issue with friends or partners, but honestly, simple stuff like when I’m sat in the hairdressers it would be nice sometimes to just give a straightforward answer when they are doing small talk like, ‘so what’s your job?’, etc!

JJ: Porn should be more mainstream and accepted. I think it's something that can only benefit the industry and society to have more openness

What's the funniest thing to happen to you whilst working?

Amber: I’m a complete klutz so I’m usually falling over, dropping things, or breaking things continuously (broke my strap-on recently - still no idea how that happened!).
Not amusing at the time but a couple years back I was filming solo clips involving food.
Was working with two close friends, my video director and make-up artist, and there was a really great atmosphere on set, a lot of laughs, and I think perhaps I just got too relaxed and over-ambitious.  In a moment of bravado inserted four grapes up my pussy…. yeah, guess what?  Couldn’t 'find' two of them.  I freaked out and started begging my make-up artist mate to use her fingers (I have hypochondriac tendencies, so was convinced I needed to go to hospital/was dying because grapes were up my pussy!).  Ended up stood in bath director ran, make-up artist trying to stifle giggles while holding my hand and talking to her boyfriend on loud speaker, who was also telling me to calm down (I kept saying, ‘I don’t need to calm down, just get your girlfriend to put her hand up my pussy and retrieve these grapes…’!).
Whole thing lasted about 15 minutes, but felt like a lifetime.   I now am very strict about what goes up there…

JJ: Can I just say that is the most amazing story I've heard. I've not laughed so much on a while. It's totally adorable.

What are you doing at the moment work wise?

Amber: I moved to Scotland in early 2015 as I’ve started studying my degree so shoots are on back burner, with the exception of when I tour (Manchester 23-27 May and London 11-21 June upcoming)
Am very much yearning to go over to Eastern Europe for some shoots later this year.  Hopefully should happen as I am in talks.

JJ: Well getting an education is always a smart thing to do. It can only work in your favour. I'm sure people are wry happy to hear you're touring and will be filming more stuff later this year.

Where can people find you online?

Amber: I don’t have a website so just Google.  Twitter: www.twitter.com/amberwestmodelis really the only social media platform I use.  I do have a Facebook fan page at: https://www.facebook.com/amberwestmodel/?ref=hl
I had an abysmal experience with Instagram after it automatically linked my page to my private Facebook (primary school friends, American Mormon family, and my mum’s friends.  Not ashamed of what I do - but none of those people needed to see photos of my cleavage!)

JJ: Yeah I would guess those people done need to be seeing that. Instagram can be tricky sometimes. I'm sure my readers will be adding you after seeing you.

What's the best thing about sex?

Amber: It’s (mostly!) free, and can be enjoyed on your own or with partner(s).
There are also just so much to choose from.  Baffled by people not into it, as that is like not liking food.  There is just SO much variety to explore.

JJ: That's a very good analogy. I think sex is very very important for a persons sanity.

What really turns you on?

Amber: In general, from either sex - charisma, and intelligence.

JJ: I think charisma and intelligence are very important things, I wish more people would find those things a turn on.

The hardest question I'll ask, what's your favourite film?

Amber: Arghh, this question…it’s like asking someone to choose a favourite child!!
Zombie Strippers is brilliantly bonkers so I adore.
Big Kevin Smith fan (Clerks, Dogma, Chasing Amy, etc) and probably seen ‘Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back’ more times than any other film and still piss my pants laughing.
Very fond of dreamy cinematography and surreal films, so adore both ‘Donnie Darko’ and ‘Daydream Nation’ which I’ve also watched loads of times.
I also like stuff like Star Wars and super excited for Suicide Squad this year.

JJ: Wow you've got some excellent film taste. I'm very impressed.

Where's your favourite place to go on holiday?

Amber: Yellowstone National Park

JJ: I've never had the pleasure of visiting it but it's on my list of places to visit for sure. You'll have to tell me more about it after the interview.

Tell me one thing about yourself I wouldn't know just by looking at you?

Amber: Due to complications and oxygen deprivation at birth (I don’t recommend entering this world two weeks late in the middle of a blizzard in North Wales, as I did!) I have Cerebral Palsy.  After many years in special education and speech therapy it’s pretty unnoticeable… I do get more tired than a lot of people,  and my coordination is dire (but that’s something much easier to hide now I don’t have mandatory PE lessons!).   I still get comments on my ‘weird accent’ and I just blame it on moving around a lot and being half American, but it’s to do with all the speech therapy I had.

JJ: I certainly would never have known that for sure. It's totally unnoticeable in my opinion.

Hats been your biggest achievement in life or work?

Amber: Well, I’m still here, so that feels like a pretty big achievement somedays
Other than that, uhhh… Grumpy Cat follows me on Twitter.  Well exciting.

JJ: Haha well once GrumpyCat follows you on Twitter you know you've made it haha.

What's the best thing a fan has ever done for you?

Amber: I don’t think I have a huge fanbase, so no tales of pink Rolls Royces being flown to me, etc!  However, the interaction I have had with fans has been very respectful and complimentary.  Received some lovely messages and the occasional bits from Amazon which I’m always so surprised and touched by.  I feel very blessed people actually consider me worth paying attention to.

JJ: I'm absolutely sure you'll be growing your fanbase real soon when people realise you're as lovely as you are sexy

What's one piece of advice you'd give to someone getting into the industry?

Amber: Know yourself.  It’s not easy money, to do well a performer should be business minded, organised, confident, not suffer fools, and happy with what they are doing.  KNOW YOUR LIMITS.  Don't be talked into anything/swayed by cash.
I really would like to the age for filming changed from 18 to 21.  That is my personal opinion.  Obviously there are plenty of savvy, street smart, and intuitive 18 year olds out there, but vast majority of folk in their late teens are not!  I’m convinced I have relished my time in this industry partly due to being slightly older and not jumping in at the deep end.

JJ: I think there are a lot of people with that view and I can understand it. I think making a decision at 18 that could affect every aspect of your life forever is a big deal.

What do you think you'll do once you leave the industry?

Amber: Plan to finish my undergraduate degree, which is psychology related and continue with studies to a doctorate.  Ideally would like to do something relating to human sexuality.
Would also like the chance to get back into doing acting work (classically trained), which has been shelved in recent years

JJ: It sounds like you've got a clear path set out for after you leave the industry which is always a good thing.

Finally, what's the weirdest rumour you've heard about yourself?

Amber: Had an extraordinary conversation with someone who was asking me how I enjoyed my ‘role in Game of Thrones,’ now this would be all fine and well, IF I had actually been in Game of Thrones (I would love to be, but I haven’t!).  Nothing could persuade this bloke he was mistaken and he seemed to think I was just embarrassed by having been in Game of Thrones or something?!

JJ: That's brilliant. The guy must have felt like an idiot once he realised (hopefully he realised).

Thank you so much for being part of Inside the Porn. It's been absolutely loved to interview you. Good luck with the rest of your degree and we look forward to seeing more of your work later this year.
